Sinusitis treatment in Turkey is a comprehensive medical approach that focuses on reducing sinus inflammation, eliminating infection, and restoring normal sinus drainage. Treatment options are determined according to the severity and duration of the condition and may include medication, endoscopic procedures, and supportive therapies under specialist supervision.

Medical management of sinusitis in Turkey commonly includes antibiotics for bacterial infections, corticosteroid nasal sprays to decrease mucosal swelling, saline irrigation to improve sinus drainage, and antihistamines when allergies contribute to inflammation. These therapies are prescribed after detailed clinical evaluation.

Endoscopic sinus surgery in Turkey is considered when chronic sinusitis does not respond to conservative treatment. Functional endoscopic sinus surgery allows surgeons to enlarge sinus openings, remove obstructive tissue, and improve ventilation while preserving healthy structures and supporting long-term sinus function.

Advanced sinusitis care in Turkish hospitals combines modern diagnostic imaging, minimally invasive surgical techniques, and multidisciplinary otolaryngology expertise. Patients benefit from structured follow-up care, individualized treatment protocols, and internationally standardized medical services.

Sinusitis Treatment: Balloon Sinuplasty Surgery

Among today’s treatment options for sinusitis patients are correcting environmental factors (treatment of allergic rhinitis and flu), using medications and nasal sprays, and surgical intervention.

In chronic sinusitis cases, surgical treatment may often be required. These treatment options include:

1. Endoscopic sinus surgery
2. Balloon sinus surgery

Compared to endoscopic sinus surgery, balloon sinus surgery offers a faster recovery process and a lower risk of complications. Therefore, patients generally prefer balloon sinus surgery.

What Is Balloon Sinus Surgery?

Sinusitis causes narrowing of the connections between the sinuses and the nose. Balloon sinus surgery involves correcting the mucosa inside the nose and sinuses and opening the narrowed sinus passages by inserting balloons into the nose and sinuses and inflating them at an appropriate pressure. This procedure is performed by experienced ear, nose, and throat specialists.

What Should Be Considered After Balloon Sinus Surgery?

In order for a person to breathe healthily and keep sinusitis under control, the nose and sinuses produce about half a liter of mucus daily. Sinusitis occurs when mucus is produced irregularly, its structure is disrupted, it becomes vulnerable to bacteria, or circulation is blocked due to deformities in the sinuses. When balloon sinus surgery or endoscopic sinus surgery is performed for sinusitis treatment, patients should make certain lifestyle changes.
